G100 Export Limiters

G100 Export Limitation Devices

G100 export limitation devices are used to control the local output of generators to the main grid. These are intelligent local generator controllers that can increase or decrease output depending on current demand. Export limitation schemes measure the Apparent Power at the exit point of the installation and use this information to restrict generation or increase customer demand to prevent exceeding the Agreed Export Capacity. These schemes allow network operators to maintain supply security while enabling new generation onto the network

g100 Export Limiter use example

A customer wants to install a 300kW Solar PV system, but the DNO (Distribution Network Operator) would only allow 100kW of export. In this case, a G100 Export Limitation device can be used to restrict the net export from their connection to 100kW rather than waiting for or contributing to costly or time-bound upstream reinforcement.

Industries that might need G100 Export Limiters

Customers who are seeking to increase the amount of generation or energy storage installed but have been advised an increase in export capacity will require costly or time-bound upstream reinforcement, may choose to restrict the net export of their connection rather than wait for or contribute to the reinforcement.

An export limitation scheme measures the Apparent Power (kilowatts) at the exit point of the installation and then uses this information to either restrict generation/energy storage output or increase the customer demand in order to prevent the Agreed Export Capacity from being exceeded.

These schemes allow network operators to continue to maintain the supply security of existing customers whilst also enabling new generation/energy storage onto the network
